These are baked-on art sheets,
in which only the design is baked onto sundry goods
by heating for 3 minutes in a microwave and 3 minutes in an oven.

Designs are easily made into art on ceramics or glass using a microwave with oven.

Baked-on Oven Ink is compliant with the Food Sanitation Act.

If used as an eating utensil, the design may be damaged due to use of knives or other sharp objects,
stacking of utensils, or other reasons, but even if a peeled off bit of design is ingested into the human body, it is harmless. Washing with dishwashing detergent presents no problems, but if you use a scrubber, bleach for eating utensils, or a detergent containing an abrasive (cleanser, etc.), there is a risk that the design will come off.

Step.1 Cut the sheet

Cut out the part you wish to affix, soak in a bowl filled with the water, remove onto a paper towel, and absorb excess moisture. When cutting, leave a margin of about 2 mm!

Step.2 Coat with art primer

Thoroughly wash the surface of the white porcelain or glass, remove oil and dust, wipe, and then coat the surface with primer. Apply primer to the surface. Bubbles or dust will cause parts of the design to be missing! Shake the art primer well until it is a milky white color!

Step.3 Transfer

Turn over so the surface of the design is facing downward, affix over the area coated with primer, and then slide off the backing paper.

Step.4 Perform contact bonding with a squeegee

Using a squeegee, carefully remove water and air, and ensure close contact.

Step.5 Place in a microwave with oven

Heat for 3 minutes with the microwave set to 600 W, and then heat for 3 minutes with the oven set to 160°C.

Step.6 Peel off the film

When the item has cooled a little after heating, remove from the oven, allow to cool further, and then slowly peel off the surface film. The process is now finished. A more beautiful finish can be achieved by wiping away film residue with water or ethanol.

Q&A

What is the appropriate amount of art primer?: There are cases where the design will not bake onto an area uncoated with art primer.
As shown in the photo, the appropriate amount is enough that tracks of the brush do not remain. Shake the primer well until it becomes milky white, as in the photo, and then use.
Also, if an art sheet is affixed onto an area coated with too much primer, crimping may occur in the art sheet film due to action of the primer components. Using the squeegee, thoroughly remove excess primer and water, and ensure the art is anchored well.
Is it okay to heat any type of glass in an oven?: Soda glass and heat-resistant glass (Neoceram) can endure the heating temperatures for Oven Ink. Glass cracking and breakage occur due to a sudden temperature change (±80℃) after heating. After heating in the oven with microwave, leave until temperature returns to normal, and do not do things like letting the item suddenly cool. Examples) Immersing in cold water, or placing in the refrigerator or freezer after heating.
Is there any difference in appearance between bake on ceramic and glass?: Parts which appear white on the sheet will be transparent in the finished result. When creating art on a transparent substrate such as glass, it may be extremely difficult to see the design depending on the design.

Therefore, on white substrates, you can enjoy vivid design colors, and on transparent substrates, you can enjoy soft hues with a sense of translucency.

If color development when a film has been affixed after coating with primer is understood to be almost the same as the finished version, then compatibility with transparent substrates such as glass is clearly evident.
Can you bake on the design with anything other than a microwave with oven?: To produce art using Oven Ink, it is essential to have a range that is also equipped with an electronic oven function. Flame-based ovens and grills cannot be used.
Is heating with both the microwave and oven essential?: Both are necessary. It’s possible to bake-on with microwave heating only, but if oven heating is not performed, there is an extreme drop in durability. Be sure to bake by combining microwave heating and oven heating.
Will the design bake on with heating settings other than microwave 600 W + oven 160°C heating setting?: The design will bake on with heating at microwave 500 W + oven 150°C.
If heating is done at a setting above the designated temperature, there is a risk the film on the design will burn, and the primer glue will discolor. Please do not heat at a temperature other than that designated.
Are the finished Oven Ink products durable?: There are no worries about the design coming off, even if the piece produced using Oven Ink is washed with water or dishwashing detergent. The design will fade and peel off if it is routinely and repeatedly washed in the dishwasher, or if it is immersed for a long time in water. When washing, use a soft sponge and do not scrub hard with a scrubber, etc.
The edge remains after peeling the film.: After heating, when the piece has returned to normal temperatures, peel off the film. A line may remain if the film is peeled after letting set for a long time. Peel off the film, without letting the piece set for too long, and wipe the entire piece with water or ethanol. When this is done, you can enjoy a beautiful, glossy finish with no edge.
I’d like to fix or erase a part of the art that didn’t come out right.: Please use Art Erase Gel (specially for Oven Ink, 30 ml). Place on top of the art you want to erase, and leave for about 3 minutes. After that, if you wipe using a cotton swab or tissue, you can easily remove only the design you want to erase.
Is it okay to sell pieces produced using Oven Ink?: Pieces produced using Oven Ink products can be used commercially. However, it is strictly forbidden to engage in conduct such as resale or distribution based on copying/processing art sheet designs.

Notes

An adult should accompany any child using the product and provide guidance.
When using Oven Ink art primer glue, carefully read the precautions listed on the bottle.

- Precaution -

There is a risk the design will peel if the sheet is folded, or scratched hard with a fingernail, etc.
Be careful of accidentally ingesting small, cut pieces of the design.
Beware of burns when heating in the microwave with oven.
If excessive primer is applied, a baked residue will remain upon heating. Please apply the appropriate amount, in accordance with the instructions or the instructional video.
When coating over a wide area, coating can be done more easily if you wear protective gloves, and soak the appropriate amount of primer into a tissue or paper towel.
When microwaving, please follow instructions for the microwave with oven.
It is recommended to heat for 3 minutes in the microwave at 500–600W, and at 160°C in the oven.
Do not use materials like plastic or aluminum that cannot be heated in a microwave or oven.
When heating ceramics or glass, etc., first be sure to remove parts or lids which cannot withstand heating.
After heating, allow to cool sufficiently, and then peel off film.
If the film is peeled off while the white porcelain or glass is still hot, the design may fail to be securely affixed.
If you want to overlay designs, first finish the final process of peeling the film, and apply art again. If heating is repeated three times or more, design color may exhibit blackening. Beware of reheating the finished item.
This art is not suitable for items that require routine washing. Wash by hand, and do not scrub hard with a scrubber, etc.

This product is not a sticker. It's a sheet with a new material, enabling
transfer and baking of only the design by using a microwave and conventional oven.
